The city of Parksville is starting up a #StayandPlayParksville photo contest, with two lucky winners walking away with a prize.

“Summer is a time to be with family and friends, to enjoy the outdoors and make memories. Due to the pandemic, we’ve made significant changes to our daily lives to help keep us all safe; keeping our distance and finding new ways to connect with one another as well as staying close to home,” read a press release from the city. “We are fortunate to live in a place where adventure and exploration are in our backyard so we hope this will encourage you to rediscover our region with a renewed sense of adventure, all with lens in hand.”

The contest is split into two categories, places and things. A winner will be chosen from each category and will then have their images shared on city social media pages, as well as Let’s Talk Parksville. Photos will not be used commercially but will become public. The prize is a surprise for now.
