Quiet week for Sooke fire/rescue

he period from February 11 to 21 was a “little slower than usual” according to the chief, “which is never a bad thing.”Responded to were nine medical calls and three hydro line issues caused by high winds on Feb. 11. There was one motor vehicle accident in which a driver fell asleep at the wheel, crashing into a concrete barrier. The female driver was shaken up by unhurt.There was one chimney fire which caused no significant damage; six complaints of people burning on wrong days.There was one smoke sighting in the woods, a suspected brush fire according to the chief who said it did not amount to anything serious.
