Sign goes up on Molson Coors brewery in Chilliwack

Project one step closer to completion, which is expected to be this summer

Construction on the Molson Coors plant in Chilliwack took one visible step closer to completion on May 1 as the company logo started to be put up on the south-facing wall.

Ground was broken on the brewery back in April 2017 with a ceremony held at the site.

At the groundbreaking, president and CEO of Molson Coors Canada Frederic Landtmeters said the $200 million-plus investment in the new brewery would create more than 1,000 jobs during the construction phase, and 100 jobs once the brewery is fully commissioned

The 36-acre site on Kerr Avenue was chosen after the company considered 30 other locations.

Most recently the company created a recruitment video to hire staff as the brewery transitions from its Burrard Street location in Vancouver to Chilliwack.

The brewery is expected to be operational by late summer.
