Local shoppers were out in force for Moonlight Madness/Plaid Friday after the Annual Santa Claus Parade with local businesses offering all kinds of deals. The 100 Mile Free Press squeezed through the crowds to speak to some shopkeepers about how their evening was going.
Frankie Vitorino, owner of The Outlaw, said it was going really well, that it was lots of fun and a beautiful parade.
They had a “discount wheel” set up that you could spin for discounts anywhere from 10 per cent to 50 per cent.
“So you have to go one full spin and whatever you land on, that’s what you get.”
She said she was excited about the whole night itself.
Kim Taylor, owner of Whimsey Gifts said it was pretty busy.
“It started out 9 o’clock this morning. From 9 to 11 was probably my busiest.”
She said she was expecting it to get busier with the parade finished.
Lillian Weeb from Work ‘n Play said it was going fabulous and that it was very busy as she took a few seconds away from the till. She was expecting the rest of the night to be great.
Janet Lilly, owner of the Kitchen Store, echoed that sentiment.
“It’s good, it’s great, it’s fun.”
It was as busy as she was expecting it to be, she said.
“It’s been a nice day.”
