Senior dies in single-vehicle accident

RCMP report the 80-year-old woman, who has not yet been identified, lost control of the Dodge Caravan and went over an embankment.

A Salmon Arm senior died at the scene of a single vehicle collision after going off the right side of Highway 97B on Monday evening.

RCMP report the 80-year-old woman, who has not yet been identified, was driving on clear, bare roads at the time of the collision, but lost control of the Dodge Caravan and went over an embankment, striking a tree.

Police and the B.C. Coroners Service are still investigating the cause of the crash.

The woman was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
