NDP leadership candidate Peggy Nash hosts meet and greet for Okanagan-Shuswap NDP members

Okanagan-Shuswap New Democrats will have a chance to question another federal leadership  candidate.

Peggy Nash will hold a meet and greet session at the Pantry restaurant in Vernon Tuesday from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Paul Dewar, another candidate, made a stop in Vernon two weeks ago.

Nash is the MP for Parkdale—High Park in Toronto and was the NDP’s finance critic before pursuing the leadership. She is a former labour official and served as the NDP’s national president.

Nash is one of seven candidates seeking the leadership of the official opposition.

The vote will be March 24 and the deadline to become a party member so you are eligible to cast a ballot is Saturday.

“To participate in the democratic process you have to show up,” said Nick Hodge, Okanagan-Shuswap NDP president

“This is an opportunity to help shape the future of our country.”
