The Board of Education of School District No. 51 (Boundary) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 2098, which includes all support staff, reached an agreement on Jan. 6.

Both parties have now ratified the memorandum of agreement that set out the negotiated changes. The settlement complies with the net zero mandate and includes the provincially negotiated framework.

Changes to the agreement included some housekeeping issues, adding clarity to wording and changes to the posting and recall language.

The support staff include bus drivers, educational assistants, maintenance workers, custodians, crossing guards, some clerical workers and some student supervisors.
