Bargain hunters and DIYers rejoice, Habitat for Humanity is opening a ReStore in Penticton.

The popular store that has locations in other communities in the Okanagan and across the country is reportedly preparing for a soft open sometime in March at its newly acquired location at 2498 Skaha Road.

In the meantime a volunteer fair is being held Feb. 1 to 3 at the location from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

There are paid positions that are also being hired for including manager, warehouse staff and cashiers.

The ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store that offer a wide-variety of items for sale from building materials to flooring, furniture, appliances and tools and home decor.

Everything is donated and money raised at the store is used in local Habitat for Humanity chapters to build homes for families in need of decent affordable housing.
