A Rosemary Heights resident investigating a suspicious noise early Tuesday found a stranger standing next to his car.

Police say the Aug. 23 incident took place around 4 a.m. in the 15500-block of 36 Avenue, after the resident heard his garage door open and went to investigate. He confronted the male, who immediately ran from the area, police say.

Officers, including a police-dog team, were dispatched, however, the suspect – described as a skinny, six-foot tall Caucasian male wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt – was not located.

The resident told police the only thing missing from his vehicle was a GPS unit; nothing was taken from the garage.

Investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
