The Regional District of North Okanagan is turning the Kalamalka Lake water source back on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
The Kalamalka Pump Station, which services the Greater Vernon area, was shut down Sept. 28 to accommodate replacement of the transformer that supplies power to the station.
“The project has been successfully completed and Greater Vernon Water can now return this water supply back to normal operations,” said Keiko Parker, water quality technologist.
Customers on the Kalamalka Lake supply may notice a change in water quality such as an increase in hardness. This may be of interest to those customers who have in-home water treatment systems or aquariums.
