RCMP seek public help after Vanderhoof teen is attacked twice in yard

The Vanderhoof RCMP are still trying to locate a man who assaulted a 19-year-old female in her yard on Third Street at the beginning of April.

An intoxicated male allegedly came into the womans yard and told her not to look at him, before punching her in the eye on April 2 at around 10 p.m.

The man was unknown to the victim.

The next day just after 1 p.m., the complainant said she heard a sound like rocks being thrown at her house so she came out to the yard where the same man swung at her with a short, sharp object, cutting her shirt and her stomach, before fleeing the scene in a rusty light blue Honda civic.

The victim was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a native man dressed in a jean jacket, T-shirt, jeans and a blue baseball cap with meshing on the back. He is thought to be in his 40s, 6’2”, with a tanned complexion, black to dark brown eyes and hair with a ponytail and a heavy build. The suspect also has acne scars on his cheeks and nose.
