Theft from BC Hydro truck
On Nov. 4 the Comox Valley RCMP received a report of a theft from a BC Hydro truck in broad daylight. The complainant reports that sometime during the day someone stole a large duffel bag containing clothing and hydro work gear worth approximately $2,900.
Pinched power tools
Police received a report of a theft of tools from a construction contractor on Nov. 4 in the area of Powerhouse Road in Courtenay. The owner reports that sometime between the dates of Oct. 30 and 31 the culprit broke into a locked storage box and stole assorted power tools worth approximately $1,800.
Police attended to a report of a single-vehicle accident where the vehicle went off the road and into a ditch, on Nov. 6. The driver was found to have been consuming alcohol and had a minor injury to his head. The driver was given tests, failed and was given a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
On Nov. 8 a report of mischief to a building at 1030 Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay was received by police. Sometime in the early morning hours an unknown male smashed the drive through window.
Block Watch meeting change
The Block Watch program meeting has changed the venue and date. This was previously advertised as being at the Serious Coffee shop on Cliffe Avenue on Nov. 12 but has had to move to the meeting room upstairs at the Quality Foods on Cliffe Avenue on Nov. 17. The time will remain at 6 p.m.
