Nanaimo Mounties are looking for information from anyone who might have seen a silver 2002 Audi S6 station wagon allegedly connected to a murder.

According to the Nanaimo RCMP, the Audi S6 was stolen from the Lower Mainland sometime between Jan 3-12 and was driven over to Vancouver Island onboard a B.C. Ferries vessel. Police believe the vehicle was used during the shooting death of Troy McKinnon, who was killed on Jan. 13 in the Wakesiah Avenue and Jingle Pot Road area.

Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP media relations officer, said police do not know which ferry terminal the vehicle may have arrived at when it came to the Island.

“We don’t know what berth the Audi entered the Island on,” he said. “We have a lot of video footage to look at and we are hoping the public can help narrow down our search. Hopefully somebody can direct us in the right direction.”

Anyone with information about the vehicle or the occupants, please call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 or contact Crime Stoppers at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com, text 274637, keyword Nanaimo or call 1-800-222-8477.
