A rally in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement is taking place this weekend in Mission.

“Rally 4 Diversity” has been organized by Cycling 4 Diversity and various volunteers in the community. They will meet at the FreshCo parking lot on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., June 27 and the rally is run until 5 p.m.

“We understand that All Lives SHOULD Matter – without prejudice or discrimination – so let’s unite together and support those that need their voices heard the most!” said Yuliana Bui, an organizer of the event. “We hope you will join us for a peaceful family friendly rally – for diversity, for inclusion, for equity and justice.

“In solidarity with Black Lives Matter. In solidarity with Indigenous Lives Matter and reconciliation. In solidarity with all People of Colour. In solidarity with Anti-Racism and Equity. In solidarity with all LGBTQIA2S+ people. In solidarity with equal civil rights for all.”

Bui was sure to remind interested parties that physical distancing rules are still in effect, and people should wear a mask and bring a sign if possible.

People can register ahead of time by emailing cycling4diversity@gmail.com, or calling 778-241-9613, to let organizers know how many people plan to attend.
