Put your questions to Terrace council candidates

All Candidates Forum set for Oct. 10

  • Oct. 4, 2018 12:00 a.m.

The stage is set for City of Terrace council candidates to take questions from the public ahead of the Oct. 20 municipal elections.

All eight contenders have confirmed their participation in the All Candidates’ Forum Oct. 10, 7 p.m., at the R.E.M. Lee Theatre.

Jessica McCallum Miller, Martin Holzbauer, Evan Ramsay and David Try have entered the race against incumbents Sean Bujtas, Lynne Christiansen, James Cordeiro and Brian Downie.

The format of the forum will allow for a combination of questions from a media panel and questions from the floor at standing microphones. Written questions will also be collected from audience members. In addition to timed responses to the questions, candidates will each be allowed two minutes for both opening and closing statements.

There will be no segment for mayoral candidates as Mayor Carol Leclerc has won her second term by acclamation.

If you cannot attend the forum the Terrace Standard invites you to submit questions or topic ideas to newsroom@terracestandard.com.

The forum is organized by a number of groups including The Terrace Standard, the Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce, Coast Mountain College, the Terrace Toastmasters, the Skeena Valley Rotary Club, Bell Media, CityWest Cable 10, CFNR, the BC Northern Real Estate Board and the REM Lee Theatre.
