Positive COVID-19 case at Civeo’s Sitka Lodge

The guest was isolated immediately and is under medical supervision

One person at Civeo’s Sitka Lodge in Kitimat has been isolated after testing positive for COVID-19.

Civeo said Wednesday (Aug. 26) that the guest was taken into isolation immediately at the time of testing, as per the company’s COVID-19 guidelines, and is currently under medical supervision.

Civeo representatives said they have maintained all prevention measures and response protocols were followed as soon as the exposure was identified, prior to the test results being confirmed by Northern Health.

A written notice has been provided to all Sitka Lodge guests and staff.

Civeo said in the notice that they are not suggesting all staff and guests have come in contact with, or have been exposed to, the virus, but are notifying them and advising them to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines to protect their health and the health of those around them.

Civeo said they continue to operate under pandemic protocols, coordinating with medical professionals, government health authorities, third-party experts, and their customers.
