Port Alberni 7-Eleven robbed for second time in two weeks

Port Alberni RCMP are looking for a male suspect after the Third Avenue convenience store was robbed Thursday morning.

Police in Port Alberni are looking for a man who robbed the 7_Eleven on Third Avenue in the early morning hours of July 14 (2016).

Port Alberni RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at the store, located at Third Avenue and Mar Street, at 4:50 a.m. Thursday and quickly set up a containment area, according to RCMP Cpl. Amelia Hayden. The suspect was not located. He is described as a male between 18 and 30 years old, approximately 5’10” having a slim build. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the store on foot south bound on Third Avenue.

This is the second time the 7–Eleven on Third Avenue has been robbed in two weeks. On June 28 at 7:15 a.m. a lone male walked into the same store and walked away with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.

RCMP have not said whether the two robberies are related.
