Police search for former Caps player last seen in September

Geoff Irwin's vehicle was found in Vancouver Nov. 25

RCMP in B.C. are searching for a former Cowichan Valley Capitals player who was last seen in the West Shore area in late September.

Geoffrey Irwin has blond hair and blue eyes, stands six feet tall and weighs 196 pounds with a medium build. Irwin was last seen wearing a grey zip up hoodie, black T-shirt and black shorts and carrying a backpack.

He is known to travel between the West Shore and Lower Mainland. Irwin drives a black 2017 Ford Escape, which was recovered by West Vancouver police on Nov. 25 near the Park Royal Mall in West Vancouver.

Irwin started his junior hockey career with the Caps in 2001-02 and played 75 games with the team over three seasons before he went on to play for the Victoria Salsa, Prince George Spruce Kings and Burnaby Express. That was followed by a collegiate and pro career in the U.S. and Australia that lasted until 2016.

Police ask anyone with information to contact their local police immediately or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
