Police briefs from Grand Forks/Boundary RCMP including methamphetamine found on driver.

Meth found on prohibited driverOn Feb. 11 at 10:36 p.m. RCMP conducted a vehicle check in the Overwaitea parking lot and found a 23-year-old woman from Trail who was prohibited from driving.When she was arrested and searched, police located a small quantity of methamphetamine.“She is facing charges of driving while prohibited and pending charges on possession of a small amount of methamphetamine,” said Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison.Snowplow plows into tractor-trailerOn Feb. 12 at 6:47 a.m., RCMP received a report of an EmCon snowplow hitting the side of a tractor-trailer unit.“The male driver and his female companion were putting on chains on the tractor-trailer when the snowplow hit the back of the trailer doing a fair amount of damage,” said Harrison. “As a result, the snowplow driver was ticketed with failing to pass at a safe distance under the motor vehicle act.”Boundary RCMP received help from West Kootenay Traffic services on the call, added Harrison.No injuries were reported.Truck goes off roadAt 5:04 on Feb. 12, a 1991 Dodge Dakota white truck went off the road about 10 kilometres west of Grand Forks on Highway 3 by Appleson Hartford Road.The vehicle was unattended when police found it.Police are still trying to locate the driver.Breach of bail and B and EOn Feb. 13 at 4:15 p.m., as a result of a complaint, police arrested a female for break and enter and breach of bail.A 45-year-old female from Grand Forks has been charged with break and enter to a residence on Gilpin Road and breach of bail conditions.
“She had conditions not to attend that residence or contact the person who lived there,” said Harrison.She was kept in custody and was scheduled to appear in Grand Forks court on Tuesday.Suspended driver On Feb. 16 at 8:48 p.m., a constable conducted a road stop on Seventh Street near 64 Avenue and located a local male who was known to be a suspended driver operating a 2002 Chevy Malibu.“The vehicle was impounded under the motor vehicle act and the person is facing charges of driving while prohibited,” said Harrison. The driver is a 37-year-old male from Grand Forks.Police ReportAt 11:30 on Feb. 3, RCMP received a report about a break-and-enter from a residence on Ritchie Road in Christina Lake.“The break and enter occurred some time between Jan. 4 and the date of the report,” said Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison. “Five long guns were stolen from the residence. Neighbouring residences are vacation properties so they’re currently vacant.”The police are continuing to investigate.
