Police make arrest after reports of man threatening people with a knife

TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 121 calls for service from June 15-18.

Here are some of the calls:

Police received a report of people being threatened with a knife in Thornhill. A man was arrested. Under investigation.

Police received a report of a man threatening to shoot people. Officers attended. A man was arrested.

A request was received to check the sobriety of two people caring for small children. The caregivers appeared sober.

Two men were reported drinking alcohol in the laneway behind the 4600 block of Lakelse Avenue. Police attended and dumped a bottle of liquor.

A found wallet was turned into the detachment. Police returned it to its owner.

A vehicle was reported speeding on the 4700 block of Tuck Avenue. Police contacted the vehicle’s owner and spoke to him about the incident.

A man was assaulted near Park Avenue and Kalum Street by unknown parties.

An abandoned 911 call was received for an address on Dobbie Street. Police attended. Call determined to be false.

A loud party was reported on the 4500 block of Park Avenue. Police attended and arrested a youth and a man for breaching their no-consume conditions.

An intoxicated man was arrested for Causing a Disturbance on the 4600 block of Park Avenue. He was lodged in cells to sober up safely.

Police received a report of a man sitting near a bank on Lakelse Avenue, making people uncomfortable. Officers attended and spoke with the man. No offence observed.

A domestic assault was reported in Thornhill. Unsubstantiated.

A man was arrested for breaching his conditions. He fled from police and was later arrested for obstruction as well.

Police received a report of an intoxicated and suicidal person. Officers met with the person. Unsubstantiated.

A pair of men’s boots was discovered near the Legate Creek Bridge. Police attended. Nothing further observed or reported.

A check-well being was requested for a man who had not been heard from for several days. Police located the man who was well.

Police attended a two-vehicle collision on Hwy 16 W. Violation tickets issued for failing to yield after stop and for having no insurance.

A man reported people shooting on his property. Police spoke to the man about how to help prevent people from target shooting on his large property, and advised him to call police should he see or hear it happening again.

A mother and son were arguing on Queensway Drive. The mother assaulted the son. She was arrested.

A panhandler was reported on Lakelse Avenue. Police attended. The man was gone.

A theft was reported at a business on Lakelse Avenue. Under investigation.

Police on patrol were flagged down by a person who was concerned about a woman sleeping in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle. Officers investigated and determined the woman to be impaired. She received a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-vehicle day vehicle impoundment for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle.

A person was reported as being intoxicated and acting violent. Police apprehended the person and took them to hospital.

Police received an abandoned 911 call and attended the address attached. A man was arrested for breach, assault, and uttering threats.

A man was reported as smashing a vehicle’s windows and assaulting a man on Haugland Avenue. Under investigation.

Police received a report of a suicidal person. Unsubstantiated.

An abandoned 911 was received from a man. A woman was arrested for assault.

A vehicle stop on Old Lakelse Lake Drive resulted in a man receiving a three-day driving prohibition and vehicle impound for blowing a warn on a road side breath test for impaired driving.

A vehicle stop at Clark Street and Muller Avenue in Thornhill resulted in a driver being arrested for impaired driving. Under investigation.

A police officer was parked downtown when he observed a man yelling and carrying what appeared to be liquor. Police spoke with the man and arrested him for breaching his no-consume conditions.

A man was arrested for outstanding warrants.

A suicidal person was apprehended under the Mental Health Act.

Police responded to a report of domestic. A female was arrested. Under investigation.

A man was arrested for breaching his no-consume conditions.
