SURREY — Police don’t believe a 31-year-old Surrey man whose body was found by a passerby on a sidewalk in Tynehead on Sunday was a victim of crime.

Paramedics tried to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead by the time police arrived. He was found on a sidewalk at 179th Street and 100A Avenue at about noon.

The Surrey RCMP set up a black investigation tent at the scene and the B.C. Coroner was also called in to investigate.

Cpl. Scotty Schumann said what caused the man’s death has not yet been determined but “foul play is not being considered at this point.”
