Three parked vehicles along Kalamalka Road suffered damage after they were hit by a pickup truck shortly before 7 p.m. Monday.

The incident was the culmination of a couple of erratic driving complaints police received about the truck and its driver.

The first complaint came from Lake Country, on Highway 97, at 6:38 p.m.  Seven minutes later, police received another complaint from the area of Bailey Road.

At 6:53 p.m., they received word of a truck going off the road in Coldstream.

“A member attended, near the intersection of Kalamalka Road and Kalavista Drive, and found the truck off the road right,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk. “The truck struck three unoccupied parked vehicles along the side of Kalamalka Road.”

The driver, a 35-year-old Cherryville man, was checked for alcohol but Molendyk said the man blew well below the limit required for an immediate roadside suspension.

The man was issued a traffic violation for driving without due care and attention.

“A number of individuals came forward with complaints of erratic driving and gave us statements,” said Molendyk.

“This man has been charged under the Motor Vehicle Act and we expect him to answer to these charges.”
