Pair arrested after pursuit

Penticton residents facing a number of charges including flight from a peace officer

Two Penticton residents are facing charges in connection with an incident which began about 3 a.m. in the area of Trout Creek.

Summerland RCMP observed a suspicious white Dodge pickup truck which was parked and when the male and female associated with the vehicle noticed police they jumped in the truck and left the scene.

RCMP attempted to pull over the vehicle however the driver, identified as Wade Morin, allegedly failed to stop and continued on to Marron Valley Road in the area of the Penticton Indian Reserve.

The truck, reportedly stolen from Kamloops, was eventually stopped and the pair arrested.

Morin was in court Monday, charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, flight from a peace officer and breach of probation and remanded in custody until his next court date May 10.

The woman was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, failure to comply with an undertaking and possession of methamphetamine.
