There is new leadership at the helm of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce.
Jaron Chasca, Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services manager, was elected chamber president during the organization’s annual general meeting.
“I believe we have a lot to look forward to in growing this organization and helping the business community grow and prosper,” said Chasca.
“We have a strong membership base, a dedicated board and committed staff. Those three elements position us well to improve our efforts around advocacy, to add more benefits to our members to help improve their bottom line and to hold exceptional events that set the stage for networking and business development.”
The other table officers elected were Tracy Cobb-Reeves, with Kal Tire, as vice president and Markus Schrott, with BDO Canada, as secretary-treasurer role.
The directors at large for 2014-2015 include, Matthew Davidson, Ingrid Dilschneider, Dauna Kennedy Grant, Adrienne Harris, Marlene Higgins, Andrew Powell, Caroline Radics and Rob Tedham.
Chasca takes over from Adrian Johnson, who remains on the board as past-president.
