Nanoose Bay’s Dorcas Point still rules

Four properties on this one Nanoose Bay street are worth $3 million or more

Nanoose Bay is still home to one of the most expensive properties on Vancouver Island according to the 2015 B.C. Assessment.

At $10.24 million, 1365 Dorcas Point Road is the fourth-most-valuable residential property on the Island or Gulf Islands.

The only properties in the region with a higher taxable value are a lavish Oak Bay mansion on its own peninsula, worth a couple million more, and two entire private Islands, including James Island, worth $51 million.

Nanoose Bay and Qualicum Beach dominate the Island list if you leave out Greater Victoria and private Gulf Islands, with three other houses worth $3 million or more on Dorcas Point Road alone.

The top three houses In the Parksville Qualicum Beach region are all in Nanoose Bay including 1374 Dorcas Point at $4.9 million and 1574 Stewart Road at $4.5 million.

Number four on the local list — the first not in Nanoose Bay — is 821 Eaglecrest Drive in Qualicum Beach at $4.4 million.

Coming in at more than $2 million there are 12 in Qualicum Beach, two in Parksville led by 511 Soriel Road at $3.3 million and 15 in Nanoose Bay.

The provincial list is dominated by Greater Vancouver, including Lulu Lemon founder Chip Wilson’s $57 million house at number one. James Island is the only non-Vancouver property to crack the top 50, which starts at $17 million.
