It’s time for an annual cleaning of an Armstrong walkway.
The Van Diest family invites the public to help them clean the Taylor Jade Van Diest Memorial Trail, off Pleasant Valley Road, to Rosedale Avenue Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
“We’ll be weed-eating and carrying things away in wheelbarrows,” said Marie Van Diest, Taylor’s mom.
Those that want to help out are asked to bring gardening implements and meet at the Pleasant Valley Road entrance to the trail.
The event will happen rain or shine.
The trail was created in memory of Taylor Van Diest, who was seriously assaulted in the vicinity of the trail Oct. 31, 2011. She died in hospital the next day.
The City of Armstrong, in partnership with the Van Diest family and the co-operation of Kelowna Pacific Railway, created the trail.
