Man plunges down steep bank off Westside Road

Police believe alcohol may be a factor in the incident

An Armstrong man escaped serious injury after his vehicle plunged down a steep bank in the North Westside Road area.

According to police, a Chevy Silverado was in the 9400 block of Hodges Road when it went down a hill.

“Some of the banks in that area go down a long was, especially on corners,” said Gord Molendyk, Vernon RCMP spokesperson, when asked about the terrain.

The 65-year-old motorist required the assistance of the North Westside Fire Department to get back up the bank.

It’s believed that alcohol may be a factor in  the accident and impaired driving charges may be pending.
