Hwy. 35 was closed on both directions for approximately two hours on Jan. 27 after a logging truck jackknifed and went off the road, approximately seven kilometres south of Burns Lake. The Burns Lake RCMP said the incident was caused by icy road conditions and that the driver was not injured. That same day, emergency services were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover on Hwy. 16 near Decker Lake. According to the RCMP, the driver was travelling westbound and lost control of his vehicle due to “slush” on the highway. The driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own and was found uninjured.
