Kristina Ward, missing.

Langley RCMP appeal for help in missing woman’s case

Video footage is one of the few clues after Kristina Ward disappeared.

Langley RCMP released video Thursday of a woman missing since September, in hopes it can help locate her.

Kristina Ward, 20, was reported missing on Sept. 29 by her family in Abbotsford.

She is believed to have been in the Langley or Surrey areas since then, and the Langley RCMP are taking the lead on the investigation with the help of neighbouring police forces.

New video released this week was recorded on Sept. 27, between 7:50 and 8:45 p.m. as Ward crossed the street at 104th Avenue and 142nd Street in Surrey.

Ward was walking with a man pushing a bicycle. This is the last confirmed sighting of Ward, and police would like to speak to the man in the images.

Although it was taken at a distance, police are hoping that the gait or mannerisms of the man walking with Ward might be familiar to somoene.

“Kristina has now been missing for over two months and requires medication elevating concerns for her well-being,” said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP. “We are asking anyone with any information that might help us to locate her, to please call Langley RCMP immediately.”

Her mother and grandmother gave an emotional plea in October for anyone with information to come forward. The family has been searching and putting up posters around the region.

Officers consider Ward a high-risk missing person, and the investigation is a high priority.

Ward suffers from seizures without her medication, and she hasn’t had access to it for many days.

Her family described her as someone who is very trusting, and in many ways is between age 12 and 16 mentally. She is a First Nations woman who stands 5’6″, weighs 130 pounds, and has long dark brown curly hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who has information on Ward’s whereabouts or on the other person in the video is asked to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
