A 51 year-old Ladysmith woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision.

Ladysmith woman killed in Yellowpoint crash

A 51 year-old Ladysmith woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision in the 2100 hundred block of Yellowpoint Road. Police have notified the victim’s family, but have not yet released her name.

The accident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. The woman was assessed with life threatening injuries on scene and died while being transported to Nanaimo General Hospital.

Two pickup trucks were involved in the crash. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

The second driver, a 39 year old male, fled the scene, but was located approximately one hour later on Cedar Road, states the RCMP report on the incident.
