Kelowna police seek armed robbery suspect

Police looking for a lone male who robbed the Peoples Pharmacy, in the 500 block of Harvey Avenue Tuesday evening.

Kelowna police are searching for a suspect after being called to an armed robbery early Tuesday evening.

On June 9, at 5:55 p.m., the Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Peoples Pharmacy, at 515 Harvey Avenue. A lone male entered the store, produced a firearm and demanded money. The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

All available police units responded immediately and set up an area of containment while a police service dog conducted a search for the suspect.

The store employee, who was alone at the time of the incident, was not injured.

The investigation is on-going which will include an analysis of the stores video surveillance footage.

The suspect is described as:

A dark skinned male, possibly native

24 or 25 years of age

Average build

5 feet 8 inches tall

Wearing a black hat, blue shirt and shorts.
