Advance polls up in city; Township sets all-time record

Increased turnout for Langley vote

More Langley voters than ever have cast their ballots in the advance polls leading up to the Saturday, Nov. 15 election.

Just under 2,000 voters (1,993 to be exact) voters went to the polls in the Township, an all-time record that represents a 22 per cent increase from the 2011 advance poll.

The chief election officer for the Township said the municipality may add another polling station in the next election or relocate one advance poll from a relatively small room in the Willoughby rec centre.

In the City, where advance polling was still underway on Thursday, initial results showed about 800 people have cast advance ballots so far, about 100 more than the last election.

 

 

In Langley City, the election day poll will be held at Nicomekl Elementary School, 20050 53rd Ave. from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

 

There will be multiple polling stations in the Township:

10. Lynn Fripps Elementary School 21020 – 83 Ave .

11. Parkside Centennial Elementary School 3300 – 270 St.

12. R.C. Garnett Demonstration Elementary School 7096 – 201 St.
