House damaged by smoke, heat in fire

Blaze is under investigation

Terrace firefighter Lieutenant Lawrence Stella is ready to run an errand in the fire engine.

Terrace Fire Department is investigating a house fire that caused significant damage and killed to pets on the 4800 block of Tuck Ave last weekend.

At around 3:30 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 18), the Terrace Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire and on arrival found smoke and fire coming out of the residence.

Fire crews quickly gained control and extinguished the blaze but the house suffered major smoke and heat damage.

At the time of the fire, the occupant of the residence was not home.

Crews tried to revive two pets that were found in the house during the incident but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The fire is still under investigation.

More details to come as they become available.
