Have a say in the planning and development of Ladysmith

The Town of Ladysmith is looking for residents who are passionate about their community to serve on a new Community Planning Advisory Committee, (CPAC).

Seven spots are open on the committee. The role of committee members is to provide feedback on development applicants, as well as advice to council on land use policies, regulations and initiatives, including heritage matters.

The goal of citizen involvement on the committee is to have a broad representation of the various skills and backgrounds of Ladysmith residents.

“We are looking for local residents with a diverse set of skills to make a real contribution to the face of our community,” said Mayor Aaron Stone. “You could have the opportunity to advise Council on matters ranging from Official Community Plan and zoning, to heritage and new developments. If this sounds like your kind of opportunity, we want to hear from you.

The CPAC will be supported by a staff liaison from the Development Services Department as well as a member of council. These roles will serve to facilitate conversations and guide committee recommendations to council.

Terms of Reference and application forms are available online. Or, drop by City Hall to pick up an information package. Then deadline for completed application form is 4 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019.
