North Okanagan pitches in with enough food to last eight months

Realtors Food Drive

A major drive aimed at putting food on the tables of the region’s less fortunate has proved an overwhelming success.

Close to 33,000 lbs of non-perishables were collected Wednesday night during the Realtors Food Drive. Dozens of realtors throughout the North Okanagan went door to door in Vernon, Coldstream, Armstrong and Enderby.

“This food that the realtors collected for us last night will last right up until June of next year,” said Salvation Army’s Stefan Reid, who extends a huge thanks to everyone who is making a difference.

“We couldn’t do it without the community’s support.”
