Fire crews attack a Friday morning fire in Guildford.

Eight people are left homeless after their home was destroyed by fire in North Surrey early this morning.

At about 4 a.m. Friday, a fire broke out in the 9600-block of 154 Street, setting off smoke alarms, which woke all residents at the home.

They all managed to escape without injury.

Resident Scott Moxam told CBC News he moved into the house just under a year ago.

“I’ve already lost everything I own,” said Moxam,.

“I went through a fire … years ago. I’m just worried about losing everything and where I’m going to sleep.”

Fire crews attacked the blaze quickly and were able to get it under control shortly after arriving.

The cause is under investigation. No one inside the house was injured.
