The province is helping the city expand the Mission Creek Greenway.

Kelowna-Mission MLA Steve Thomson and Community, Sport and Cultural Development Minister Bill Bennett announced last Friday that Victoria is providing 2.83 hectares of parkland to allow the city to complete a network of trails running along the creek side.

The land from the B.C. government is being provided through the provincial sponsored Crown grant program.

The land, with an assessed value of $473,700, fills a gap in the  Mission Creek Greenway Regional Park and allows the city to expand the popular walking, biking and running trail.

“We are pleased to provide Kelowna with this Crown land for the expansion of trails, playgrounds and other recreation amenities,” said Bennett.
