The School District #27 (SD 27) trustees and staff will hold a public workshop in 100 Mile House to discuss its strategic plan currently under development.
Will your local school close?
Will the additional choices offered by 21st Century Learning methods benefit your child in a meaningful manner?
These are some of the questions that will be addressed at the meeting.
Numerous options, which have been under development since April, will also be presented for public input for the first time.
Parents, local government leaders, provincial and community organizations and others interested in education are encouraged to turn out to 100 Mile House Junior Secondary gymnasium on Oct. 4, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Initial Options Report was released by the board at its Sept. 25 meeting in Williams Lake, and will be presented for discussion.
Some potential changes are in response to a new direction towards personalized learning the Ministry of Education has mandated to school districts, while others are budget-related and aimed at aspects, such as efficient use of space when compared to current enrolment numbers.
Whether for efficient fiscal management or for progressive education, many changes are still in the planning stages, SD 27 encourages folks to take this opportunity to find out more and express their views on the direction of local education.
