A Kelowna man was given a handful of tickets following a traffic accident near Coldstream Saturday.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., RCMP and B.C. Ambulance were called to Highway 97 near College Way.

“A Honda Civic travelling northbound was seen by other motorists speeding and driving erratically,” said Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy. “The vehicle struck the meridian, drove through a red light, hit a pole and collided with a Chrysler car.”

The 28-year-old male driver of the Honda was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital with minor injuries, and later received tickets for the offences.

The 44-year-old female driver and 65-year-old female passenger of the Chrysler car, both from the Vernon area, were not injured.

The man was served tickets for driving without due care and attention, failure to obey a red light and failure to keep right. Both vehicles sustained substantial damage and were towed from the scene.
