Downtown Vernon intersection to be closed for revitalization work

The 33rd Street intersection at 30th Avenue will be closed to traffic from Sunday to June 28

As part of Vernon’s downtown revitalization project, the 33rd Street intersection at 30th Avenue will be closed to traffic from Sunday to June 28.

Detours will be in effect for the duration of the intersection works and 34th Street will be re-opened to accommodate this closure. West and eastbound traffic is to use 32nd Avenue or 25th Avenue to bypass this closure.

“Businesses continue to be open during the construction and they appreciate the public’s support. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be re-directed around the construction as necessary,” said Mark Dowhaniuk, the City of Vernon’s infrastructure engineer.
