Crews from Vernon Fire Rescue Service and B.C. Wildfire Services are on scene at a forest fire in Okanagan Landing.

A fire department official said the blaze broke out near the Tavistock development off Tronson Road Saturday evening.

Police have started evacuating residents, including Vernon councillor Dalvir Nahal, who lives near Adventure Bay with family and was entertaining guests.
