An Alberta man is expected to face impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle accident in Enderby Friday night.

Members of the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP’s rural detachment were called to a report of an accident in the 300 block of Brickyard Road shortly before 9 p.m.

“Witnesses reported a red pickup driving erratically and striking a Hydro pole, shearing it off,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.

The driver and lone occupant of the truck, a 28-year-old man from Cochrane, Alta., was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital with undetermined injuries.

Police say alcohol is a contributing factor in the crash.
