Clearwater’s first baby of the new year has arrived and it’s a boy.

Silas Coghlan was born on Jan. 1 at 5:40 p.m. to proud parents Sam and Brooke, and he also came in as the second baby born in Kamloops at Royal Inland Hospital for 2020

“He’s seven pounds, 15 ounces,” said Sam. “Mom and baby are both doing really good.”

Silas is the Coughlan’s second child and their daughter Ruby is happy to finally be a big sister, holding baby Silas for a good hour shortly after he was born.

Sam said he and Brooke are blessed to have another healthy child to look after, adding he’d like to thank the anonymous Samaritan who ploughed his laneway while he and the family have been at the hospital.

The Coghlan’s are expected to bring baby Silas home to Clearwater on the evening of Jan. 3.
