Tenancy law can be a bit tricky at times to navigate for seniors.
A special session, Tenant-Landlord Law 101, is set for Feb. 8, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the St. Thomas Anglican Parish Hall in Chilliwack.
“This informative session will be facilitated by Andrew Sakamoto of the Tenant Resource & Advisory Centre,” said Coletta Holmes, of the Chilliwack & District Seniors’ Resource Centre.
Sakamoto has been at TRAC for more than seven years, and took over as executive director in 2013.
He’ll be talking about the rights and responsibilities of tenants and landlords alike, as well as some of the reasons for problems, such as non-payment of rent, conflicts, hoarding, or not following building rules.
“During his time at TRAC, Sakamoto has developed a passion for rental housing and improving access to justice for B.C.’s more than 600,000 tenant households.”
The St. Thomas hall is at 46048 Gore Avenue, Chilliwack.
