Castlegar man in hospital after rolling truck

A 27 year old Castlegar man remains in hospital today with serious but non life-threatening injuries after an accident

A 27 year old Castlegar man remains in hospital today with serious but non life-threatening injuries after an accident which occurred on Ooteschenia road at approximately 4 p.m. on November 6th.   The driver lost control of his truck and flipped several times before crashing into the trees off road. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.  He was taken to the Trail hospital with several broken bones, bruising and abrasions.

The road was closed for a few hours as the scene was examined.

 

Police believe that speed and alcohol were factors in this crash, and the investigation continues.

 

The driver is facing several charges, including:  Driving while Prohibited, Impaired driving,  no insurance, and failing to wear a seatbelt.
