A car drove off the road just north of Humphrey Creek Bridge on Hwy 37 Thursday shortly before noon.

A car went off the road just north of Humphrey Creek Bridge on Hwy 37 on Thursday, just before 12 p.m.

Kitimat Fire and Rescue said they initially responded to the scene to help get the driver out, but handed it to RCMP afterwards.

The car went into the water just off the road, but thankfully missed the river, itself, Kitimat RCMP’s Cst. Fink said.

Cst. Fink said the driver was the car’s only occupant and that he released himself at the scene.
