The driver of the vehicle was able to extinguish most of the blaze with the help of some water provided by the staff at Poncho’s Coffee House.

“He was driving along and saw a funny alarm,” said Fire Chief Chris Aubrey.

The driver pulled over outside of Poncho’s, near the roundabout, and noticed smoke coming from the rear of the car and discovered the fire.

While most of the fire was extinguished by the water, crews ensured it was fully out and checked for other hot spots.

After a quick initial inspection Aubrey noted the cause of the fire was likely electrical. While he thought the damage wasn’t too extensive, the vehicle did have collector plates. “Hopefully it’s repairable,” he added, noting some damage done to car’s exterior.

The driver was not injured.
