Seven building permits worth $2,134, 364 were issued in the city in October. That’s up from six totalling $965,368 from the same month in 2014.

There have been 67 permits issued this year totalling nearly $10.2 million, up from 32 through the first 10 months of last year, totalling just under $4.5 million.

“Building is flying again this year,” said Armstrong Mayor Chris Pieper. “I can remember three, four years ago when permits for the year totalled two or three.”

In the township, there were 12 permits totalling $920,895 issued in October, up from five worth $363,400 in the same month a year ago.

A total of 49 building permits worth $8,678,279 have been issued so far in 2015, up from 38 worth nearly $3.8 million a year ago.
