The Cowichan Valley Regional District has installed a bike maintenance station at Island Savings Centre.

The station offers cyclists basic tools for easy fixes.

This includes a pump, wrenches, hex keys and other bike tools that can be used for simple adjustments and enjoyable riding.

The station is available for use by the public and is located on the west side of the building next to the electric vehicle charge stations.

“The bike maintenance station is a convenient option for simple bike fixes,” said CVRD chairperson Jon Lefebure.

“Ultimately, the station supports healthy living and environmental stewardship as we work towards active transportation in our communities.”

This station is a pilot project.

If it is successful, additional stations will be installed at priority cycling locations within the CVRD.
