According to DriveBC the Trans-Canada Highway will be closed in both directions from the East Boundary of Glacier National Park to the West Boundary of Glacier national park between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. They report there will be individual closures of up to two hours.

The avalanche control comes after Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass for the second consecutive day.

Environment Canada is forecasting that an additional 2 to 4 cm of new snow will fall at high elevation as a low pressure system slowly moves east.

They are asking motorists to exercise caution and adjust their driving conditions.

DriveBC is reporting dense fog and limited visibility on Hwy. 1 eastbound.

The high in Revelstoke is +9 today.
